Swap Jutsu Tutorial
In many cases you’ll want to add your own custom jutsu to some of your characters. However, under the normal rules this cannot be done unless without creating a full, universal seven stage tree that anybody can use. The problems with going out and registering a full tree are quite obvious with the first being that you might not want other people to use your jutsu, and the second being that you may not have enough ideas for a full tree (say you only want one or two neat additions to your character).

Basic Rules
- Like a regular tree, a swap tree may contain up to five jutsu per stage
- You may swap out up to two jutus per stage in any one tree.
- If a swap list has more than two jutsu per stage you'll need another tree to take them all.
Basically, you create your jutsu and post it up for evaluation like normal with the only difference being that there is also a “Replacing:” line on your jutsu submission sheet (which should be blank at this stage). You’ll also need a requirements line, but that is also blank. After it has been approved you should have a stage number assigned to it.
Example: You make the Dancing Cacti no jutsu and after much thinking the staff decide that it’ll be a Stage 1 Jutsu.

Replacing:
Requirements:
Description: A simple genjutsu that makes the victim believe dozens of tall cacti are dancing around the battlefield, distracting him and interfering with his movements for fear of running into a cactus.
So now you’ve got your Stage 1 Dancing Cacti no Jutsu approved and sitting in the registry. Your next job is to go to your character and look at the lists you have already taken. Look through the stage 1 jutsu on your lists that your character does not have and find one you don’t like.
Example: You skim through the Global Ninjutsu list which you’ve taken. Your character does not have the chakra light jutsu but you decide that you absolutely hate it and so you plan to replace it. So you take the requirements of the chakra light jutsu, and edit them into the requirements box of your own custom justs. You will also edit the name of the jutus you are replacing into its special box as well.

Replacing: Chakra Light Jutsu
Requirements: Intelligence 5, Tactics 4, Willpower 4
Description: A simple genjutsu that makes the victim believe dozens of tall cacti are dancing around the battlefield, distracting him and interfering with his movements for fear of running into a cactus.
Congratulations, your jutsu is finished. All that’s left is for a staff member to move this jutsu into your character’s profile and then you can use your new technique. Remember though! Now that you’ve replaced it you may never take the Chakra Light Jutsu for your character – he simply cannot learn that technique so choose which jutsu you want to replace carefully.
Note: Any list that does not have stat requirements listed in it is a swap list - such as many of our special squad lists and clan lists.
Any techniques from a list like that work exactly like regular swap jutsu. You must choose which jutsu you want to replace with them. The only difference being that you might be able to do this at character creation if you happen to be a part of the special squad or clan in question, and also that the stages of the jutsu are already assigned.
